A girlfriend and I are looking for a 5 night getaway from Dec 26-31 in Europe. We don't want to do the winter thing, and so are thinking more south. Suggestions?

Everywhere but Greece, Turkey and Spain/Portugal will have at least a chill in the air. Perhaps Sicily will be fine as well. I was in Rome during an abnormally warm winter, and this Minnesotan still needed a light winter coat.

The area along the English Channel is considered a more temperate climate. Have you thought about the Channel Islands? the gothic Mount St. Michel? Normandy Beaches? Bayeaux? The food is wonderful - especially oysters, and crepes. Have fun!
