Hello Lovers of Positano!
We'll be traveling to Italy in 10 days - will be spending 3 nights in Rome, on to Positano for 9 nights then back to Rome for 2.
We've intentionally kept tours light; Vactican and Colleseum in Rome. We want our time in Positano to be intentional and meaningful. We want to experience this wonderful place apart from tourism. We'd welcome anyone's suggestions on how we could enjoy Postano's as an insider. Any suggestions welcome...what strikes you about Positano?

Between 10:00-16:00, Positano can get crowded with daytrippers. Good time to take the bus or ferry to some of the less-visited towns.
I would suggest a daytrip to Paestum (bus or ferry from Amalfi to Salerno, then bus or train to Paestum). Even better, spend one of your nights there. Amazing Greek temples and an excellent museum, perhaps some beach time as well. Museum is closed on Monday.
Congratulations on your trip! Sounds like you're going to have a wonderful time!
