This Travel+Leisure article describes something I’d not heard about before, and really couldn’t have imagined would be a “thing,” but apparently people on cruise ships have been stashing little rubber duckies in nooks and crannies on the boat, a game that’s been going on for some time. Refrigerator magnets are going on cabin doors, too, apparently. https://www.travelandleisure.com/cruise-line-asks-guests-to-stop-hiding-rubber-ducks-12062223
I sense that all this is, at least, less intrusive than the little padlocks that have been attached to bridges and railings in lots of places, but it’s deliberate littering, from what the article suggests. Does anyone reading this thread do this, themselves? Does it improve your life, or your trip? Does it make the cruise experience better for other people on the ship?
