This is just a point of information: We just got an email from Viking River Cruises announcing suspension of operation through August 31,2020. We were set for their cruise from Basel (start on land in Zurich) to Paris (off the boat before) on August 22.

We had received that info much earlier. Are you sure you didn't overlook an earlier email? They do have some interesting deals for 21. Most of the offers include full refund up to two weeks prior to departure. Gives a lot of flexibility. We are booking one for Oct, 2021.

No, that was the first notification we got. That was the first one for our travel partners as well. We got it Friday night. My husband had called them 2 weeks ago and they said they wouldn’t make a decision until the end of June. It was actually a relief to have them pull the plug. Now we just have to wait and see what will happen with our British Airways flight.

Well, maybe they were staging it so that their call centers would not be overrun with phone calls. It is a big deal to completely cancel a whole schedule. Lots of people affected.
