Hi everyone... My name is Herny, just join this group. I'm from Indonesia. Me and my friend will travel to Europe from 30 April, 2011 up to 15 May, 2011. I have plan to visit Loire Valey, and i already request an accomodation from one of the member at Couchsurfing.com
They're warmly accept us. So, i need an information, how to get to Blois, from Brussels? If possible, the most simple route, because we are 2 female travellers. We will arrive and stay in Amsterdam for 4 days, then go to Brussels and stay there 1 day, the next day we will go to Blois. Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the Helpline, Herny! The best train timetable site for virtually all of Europe is the German Rail site. Enter Bruxelles-Midi as your departure station and Blois as your arrival station. After you get summary timetables, click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points, if any, for each departure time. You will find that you will need to take a Thalys train from Bruxelles-Midi to Gare du Nord in Paris. Trains to Blois depart from Gare d'Austerlitz. Take Metro line 5 directly from Gare du Nord to Gare d'Austerlitz. Trains run about every 5 minutes and the ride takes 14 minutes. The fare is €1.70. The standard 2nd class fare for Brussels-Paris is €90, but if you book right now at www.thalys.com you may still be able to get a Smoove fare as low as €25. The standard 2nd class fare for Blois-Paris is €25.80, but if you book right now at www.tgv-europe.com you may still be able to get a Prem's fare as low as €10.

Hi Tim, Thank you very much for you information about the transportation to Blois. Yesterday i received message from my host in Blois, and the informations he gave is almost same as yours. My friend had booked Thalys for May 4, 2011 from Brussels to Paris Nord, and you're right, we still get the Smoove fare, its 25 Euro per persons. Then we continue to Paris Austerlitz, take train to Blois and our host we'll pick up both of us to their residence. I hope our trip to Europe will become reality soon, at this moment we still try to fulfill documents for apllying Schengen Visa to Ambassade de France in Jakarta, Indonesia, because in Indonesia it is quite difficult to obtain visa.
