Oh, boy...what is this place??? We've been here all of three hours and it's like architecture on an acid trip! We need a day trip for tomorrow. Any suggestions? I don't think we want to hang out here for a full day longer before we head to Dubrovnik.

Haven't been,but have heard Hvar is a great day trip. Agreed that a few hours in split is enough. After that, I went to the beach.

We ended up in Trogir and had a wonderful day there. Really a fabulous city and I thank you both for your suggestions.

I thought Split was pretty cool - how many places have part of a town inside a Roman palace? And there was good, cheap wine too, although that was in 2004, maybe prices have gone up since then!

To me you can see the interesting sites in Split in 1/2 day.
