please help choose between more time in Switzerland or Austria

Hello, We are excitedly planning our trip to Europe but are struggling with making some decisions. We have visited Switzerland before and loved going up the mountains to see snow and the views (we do not do snow sports except for a short gentle toboggan ride!). We have spent time in the Jungfrau area, Lucerne, Basel, etc. We land in Zurich on 30 March 2016 and plan to go straight to Zermatt and do the Glacier Express to St Moritz. We are trying to decide if we should spend time in Zermatt and/or St Moritz area before going on to the Salzkammergut area, Salzburg and Vienna before going on to Germany. We have never been to Austria or Germany. If we spend time in Zermatt/St Moritz we will have to reduce our time in Austria or Germany. We have a total of 15 days (excluding the day for the Glacier Express trip but including the travel time between the other places). We like beautiful villages, good food, strolling around, going up gondolas, lakes and beautiful scenery - we do not bother with shopping and tend not to go to museums.

Thank you for your help.

I haven't been to Switzerland (yet) but enjoyed my time in Austria (Salzburg and the PillerseeTal area of the Tyrol).

Your dollars should go father in Austria than Switzerland. Net family incomes in 2014 (converted to Euros):
Switzerland: 77407€
Austria: 33666€
USA: 32855€ (43648 USD)

Thank you so much for replying so quickly. The links you sent through are extremely helpful, I really appreciate it. We are lucky in that cost is not a factor for us (our return flight tickets are air points one so we have the funds to splurge a little). We definitely want to spend time in Austria - so now it is just a matter of deciding if we should spend time in Switzerland or just travel through (with perhaps a night or two) and have longer in Austria. We have decide pretty soon as it is a busy time of year and so many hotels are already booked. Thank you again.

I would think you would want two nights and one full day of sightseeing at each end of the Glacier Express ride, so you can say that you visited Zermatt and St. Moritz, not just slept there. Your travel days after each of these stops are full days.
