Is it "normal" to start thinking about your next European trip within the first week of your return back home?
I must be mad if it's not, because I'm already thinking about Portugal and Spain. And imagine this, I don't like flying!!

When I first started to travel to Europe I would be thinking of my next trip on the flight home !
I already have my next 3 trips partially planned...
My next one for December is planned (Costa Rica), next October (Spain again) is partially planned, and I hope to squeeze one in between (Ireland #4) in the spring. So yes, it's normal.
I'm with Norma! Like Norma, I also plan my trip even still in Europe! LOL!
So many of us here are travel addicts, and I'm not a wealthy woman, and I still travel to Europe every year, but during low season when it's cheaper.
Looove to travel!!!
We just returned May 29th and I can tell you that my planning for the next trip began way before we returned......... anyway that is half the fun!! : )
Eli, I think that's "normal" with a lot of people. I find travel to be somewhat addicting, and I usually have an approximate idea on where my next trip is going to be. At the moment I have a list of about six RS tours that I'm looking at. Unfortunately, "work" if a problem right now, but unfortunately I need to focus on that in order to pay for the trips!
I'll also be looking at Hawaii again in January or February if we get another miserable winter.
Cheers!
"if I didn't have a trip to look forward to, a lot of joy would go out of my life."
Cate, I can so relate to what you wrote there. I am thankful to read that it is not insane to start planning the next trip so quickly. We have travelled quite a bit since we got married, but quit taking trips to Europe back in 1990 because my daughter was a baby and we had too many expenses. We did travel to the Caribbean about 5 times, Mexico and several to Myrtle beach etc., but nothing really compares to Europe for me, so I am glad we started back two years ago. Only problem is that there are so many countries to see, and so many I want to revisit...sigh.
Eli, my last trip to Europe was in 92 (and then I started having kids, too!) We have done a lot of travel in the US, and of course to Disneyland (but usually we have combined that with other sites). We're only going to be able to make it to Germany and N. Italy this time, and I can think of many more trips we have to make. Some of them are places I have been before (England/Scotland, Norway) but they are still places I want to take the kids and husband. There are also a lot of places I haven't been that we will need to go to, too. : )
We're probably going to wait another few years to do more Europe (airfare kills us with 4 kids!), but until then, we want to go to Yosemite, Hawaii, and a couple of other closer locations.
Thanks Eli for this question because now I know I am not the only mad person out there. I love travel too and plan several trips at a time at least one year in advance.
Eli, in 11 days (but who's counting) we're leaving for 5 weeks in Europe. Our next trip is in 2010, and I've already started making plans . Sounds to me like you have "the bug". The Travel Bug that is : )
Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Besides everything is fresh in your mind and "life" hasn't impinged too much YET!
Planning for travel is as much an escape for me as the actual travel- if I didn't have a trip to look forward to, a lot of joy would go out of my life.
So, you are "normal," in my book!
I haven't left yet and I've already started planning my next trip! lol
I'm a natural planner - i've had this one on the cards since I was 14.
I'm off to Bali next year, then Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in 2010 and then hopefully back to Europe in 2011... but I may even go to the US or possibly Africa.
Hi Eli, I also had done some travelling BC (before Children) and am now starting again. We're backpacking with the kids for 5 weeks. Even my oldest (14 years) is already thinking of our next trip. This trip is Holland,France and Northern Italy and she is planning our Southern Itlay & Greece Trip.
I guess it must be hereditary. Have Fun
I hope it's normal. Always on the flight over, I'm planning the next trip. Also during the trip I'm plotting the "next time". I'm not crazy about flying either.
Eli, it's very normal for me for sure. I returned from my first trip to Italy last year on May 13 and booked my second trip on May 30. It helped me with my post vacation depression and I do it as often as I can!
