Hello travelers~
I have recently found out that I may be able to plan my dream trip. I am on a budget but would like to travel from Scotland to Greece, meeting my husband in Spain or Portugal to finish the trip. Can I get some ideas as to how to plan and play this idea? I've never been to Europe so I guess I need all the informaion I can get as to how to put this together...planning to do this in the next 12-18 months. Thank you all for your helpful information.

That sounds like a fantastic trip -- congratulations! But in order to help you, we'll need some details to go by. First, are you planning on traveling during a particular month? How long will you have to stay in Europe? Also, is the order of your travels (starting in Scotland, ending on the Iberian peninsula) set in stone or is that somewhat flexible? Any details you could offer to board will result in better, more specific responses.
Tracy,
I agree with the previous reply in that some further information would be really helpful.
As this is your first trip, I'd highly recommend pre-reading the Guidebook Europe Through The Back Door as it will answer a lot of your questions (including Itinerary planning).
Given your home location, you're more fortunate than most of us here as you're able to take the short drive to Edmonds and speak with the travel experts at ETBD. You may wish to buy some country-specific Guidebooks there, but if not they have an incredible Library of books that you can reference free of charge!
I'm sure the group here will be able to help you put the plans for your "dream trip" together. Start packing!
Cheers!
thank you for replys..nothing is set in stone at this point.
Travel time; flexible at this time but I was thinking of starting in Aug or Sept. I don't want to get caught in the south during the hot months and return home during the poor weather months..if possibe.
Length of stay; we are discussing 2-3 months.
I have RS 2003 book...ETBD and didn't know I could go up and sit down 1 on 1 w/somebody...this is exciting stuff.
I thank you all for the input...this is great!
