Plane fuel shortage in Portugal

Heard this morning on the BBC News that they have run out of plane fuel at the Lisbon Airport due to the truck blockades/strikes protesting the high cost of fuel (and we think we hae problems). They are also experiencing some food shortages as deliveries cannot get through. The truck drivers in Spain are staging protests and there have been some smaller ones in France. Now this should not continue indefinitely as the govts. involved are bound to intervene, but we, as visitors, should be aware of what is going on. You should really watch/listen/read on line the BBC news as it gives you far more international news then you ever get on the major networks in the USA.

They only ever mention the capital cities , down here on the Algarve all the petrol stations have been empty for 2 days now and the supermarket shelfs are emptying fast. But we must all stand together and back these guys for they stand for our righs as well as ther own . As an English expat i find it wounderfull to see these people stand up for what they belive in , in England no one has the backbone to stand together we all just think about our own personell hardship . Does any one know how long Faro airport will continue opperating flights i have emailed severall operators, and the airport AnA customer services but no resonse from any one . Good look guys
