Phone calls within Scandinavia

Is it better to use phone cards or Verizon cell phones while visiting Scandinavia? I'm going to call Verizon now to check on their fees, but am hoping someone with experience will lend some help. Thanks

Unlike some US phone providers, Verizon cell phone technology is not compatible with the European systems and their phones don't work there. Verizon does have a couple of options for you.
