Is there a group that meets in the Phoenix area? I know I've seen another poster from Phoenix (Maybe Michael??) It would be cool to get a group together to share travel tales and get input on upcoming trips. This last October we flew to Edmonds for the Travel Festival and had fun, but thats to long of a commute to do very often!

I haven't seen that a Phoenix group meets, but if you can get a group together that would be great. We really enjoy our Sacramento meetings. We get and receive great information and get to indulge in talking about our passion - travel!

I think the Sacramento group should get some good Southwest fares for Edmonds some weekend...ROAD TRIP!!! Mark, just post something...like you're doing here...hopefully, you'll get some nibbles. Or, do as I do and harangue neighbors of yours with PMs when they post on a thread LOL! Good luck!

Start a group and I'll bet you'll get lots of interest! You've probably noticed that Sacramento, Denver, and Atlanta all meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Actually, the Sacramento group and the Denver group linked up via Skype. The technology worked OK and we did move the laptop around so that everybody could meet each other but 1) there was just too much noise as both groups were in a Panera Bread place and, 2) it wasn't set up well enough to see who was speaking. Still, we got to meet Lee and his group.

Hi Mark, I was really glad to see your query! I have been attempting to start such a group on Meetup,but with limited success. If someone else organizes a Phx. area gathering for Rick Steves fans, I would be just as interested to join their group. I have recently started a group Facebook page for Rick Steves Fans from our area. I have hopes that the group page would be a good way to gather Phoenix fans together in order to be able to notify them about meeting times.
