passport story

Well,here goes my passport story. Going to Italy mid october. When I went to get my passport out of the safety deposit box in August, checked the date and realized it expired in august 06 not august 08 like I thought. (stupid me) Rushed to post office to renew on August 27. I did expdated service with overnight shipping both ways. I also had it sent to my mothers house because she is retired and home most days. 10 days later I began to check daily online to see how it was progressing. The website said that I would recieve it 3 weeks after application was recieved. I began calling a couple of days ago, because when I called two weeks ago the passport agent said she could not handle the call because my trip was not less than two weeks away.

On Monday 9/24 I called again and was told to make an appointment for the following monday 10/1, since that would be the two week time frame. The agent also said that if I didnt get by Friday to call again. Well Today is friday. I checked the website and it still said that I was being processed. I call the passport info line again. She told me that I was processed and would be mailed today, and I should be getting it on monday 10/1 or tuesday 10/2. Half an hour ago I got a call from my mother. My passport has arrived. yet the website still lists it as being processed, and the passport office said it was listed at being mail at 5pm today. Go figure.
