Hi, I'm starting to travel again, and want to reach my goal of getting my passport stamped from my travels. I'm from Chicago, IL USA and will be first stopping off at franfurt on a layover and then to amsterdam. My return trip will be from amsterdam and stop off at zurich and then back to chicago. I was wondering, can I get my passport stamped at frankfurt, amsterdam and zurich?? Please let me know. Thanks
All three of the countries you are passing through are part of the Schengen Agreement. You will go through passport control when you first enter the area(Frankfurt) and when you leave the area (Zurich). Your passport will not be stamped in the Netherlands since you are arriving from a Schengen country and departing to a Schengen country.
can i ask someone or go somewhere in the airport or in amsterdam to get my passport stamped?
Stamps are for official use and not a touristy thing to do. You get stamps for entering a country through immigration control. Since most of the immigrations control is gone for many countries in the EU, there are no entry.
Hi, When you fly back to Chicago, you can get the 3rd stamp...US Admitted, if that counts for you...just ask if they don't automatically do it.
The stamp you receive on your entry marks the date you entered the Schengen Zone. When you leave, the official looks for the corresponding entry stamp before he applies the exit stamp. If there's an extra stamp, it would cause trouble. So, you get two stamps- one for entry one for exit and that's all.
Sometimes you will not even get an entry stamp anymore since Frontex is being digitalized.
Thanks for info. It looks like I'll just have to have more vacations then!
Certain super-touristy places will do fake passport stamps, I know there's a guy at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin that does that. I've seen it in another location that I can't remember right now either.
You can pay to get one in Liechtenstein.
Hi, If it's fake passport stamps you want, one place I know of in Berlin that does that for the tourists willing to pay 5 Euro (?) for stamps (Stempelaufdrücke) is in the area of the Brandenburg Gate, on the eastern side either at Pariser Platz or at the foot of Unter den Linden.
There's also a "fake" country on the eastern French border (I forget the exact location; maybe someone else knows) which I believe has either a king or a President who will stamp a passport in the country's capital.
