Passport Processing Times Improving

Just back from France. Wanted to renew my passport for travel as mine is expiring soon. Took photos at Walgreens and mailed Priority Mail from post office. They seems to be going faster now.

That's good to hear as I am mailing off my renewal today.

My renewal was received in the system on 6/26 and is still "in process" as of 8/11. Not expedited service though. The site still says to expect 10-13 weeks.

This was for expedited service. We're planning a trip in October and over Christmas so needed to make sure it arrived in time. Almost feel like I should have just paid for regular.

Matthew, if it makes you feel any better, I paid for expedited service to renew my passport in February 2020, right before Covid hit and I had to cancel my April trip to Italy. The first time I used that passport was this past June—if it had arrived three years after I sent in the renewal application, it would have been soon enough! 😄

I’m glad you were lucky my neighbor is planning to take her children to Italy to visit her parents this year. They sent the passport application off in May. It’s August, the passport is still not back, the trip is not until Christmas but she’s giving them about 30 more days before she calls our Congress person and tries to get something moving

I am 6 months into an attempt to get a nexus card so it is not just Passports that are an issue.
