I sent my passport 2 days ago for renewal and am regretting that I didn't use the expedited option. Does anyone know how long it takes to get their passport renewed?

You might check online. I think there is a way you can check the progress and then if you want change it to expidited. The normal processing time is 4 to 6 weeks. Christine

As I recall, I received my new passport in about three weeks, and received the old, canceled passport separately a few days (maybe a week) later.

We submitted our passports for renewal less than 3 weeks ago and they arrived yesterday.

When do you leave. it sounds like soon. Since you are in Sacremento, is there a passport agency there? Maybe they can help you. Not sure since you already sent it in but the one here in Philadelphia does it same day if you are leaving and have flight info or emergency.
