I'm absolutely giddy.
We sent in our passport applications on November 20, the Monday of Thanksgiving week. I did not pay extra for expedited renewal, and did not send them via overnight mail. I did request verification of delivery.
I'll skip the intervening steps, but our passports arrived in today's mail, just 25 days after I mailed them! And that's in a period with a major holiday, as well as three weekends. Wow!
So take heart, all ye who have expiring passports and upcoming trips.

Kim, I wasn't too worried, because we had 6 months. I had figured that if we hadn't seen any action by February, I'd start poking around.
But it's definitely one less thing to have to take care of, and we were just ridiculously pleased when we saw what was in the mail yesterday. What a rush!
Off the subject: Are you coming back for Christmas? If you're here before January 1, take a few hours to come see the Sapulpa Rte 66 Christmas Chute. It's worth the trip. Really. If you aren't going to be here, tell your folks to come see it.
I remember seeing the articles and tv pieces on the Chute last year - it does look fabulous. We won't be back since we were there at Thanksgiving. Maybe next year ! It's amazing what they have been able to create
Kim, Stan and I have been volunteering down there, and it really is amazing. Everyone smiling, kids having a blast, people of all ages and backgrounds just having a good time.

Great news! Getting ready to send off a passport and glad not to pay extra fees. It’s for my daughter and we don’t need it for 6 months.

We mailed our renewals on December 7, and received the new ones on December 16! Expedited service, sent priority mail with 1-2 day return shipping.
