Passport control and customs in Paris & Zurich

My wife and are traveling in May
Atlanta - Paris - Zurich
Was is the process for the two airports (only changing planes in Paris) ?
What is a good time estimate from retrieving our bags to getting on a train for Bern?

Can the alps be seen from the restaurant on top of the Bern station?
Thanks Dave

Dave, on a clear day, you can see the Jungfrau from the bridges the cross the Aare river. I've been to Bern three times and only once was it that clear.
I'm not sure what is on top of the Bern train station. It's only two stories and surrounded by businesses and hotels.

In the Zurich airport, last Sept, 2021, it took 11 minutes to get thru passport control. We did not check luggage. The train station is immediately adjacent, and trains leave probably twice an hour for Bern. Download the SBB app and check.

Have a great trip!

You go through immigration when you arrive in the Schengen area. I.e. Paris in your case.

As Badger noted, immigration is in Paris. In Zurich you just get off the plane and go. No border hassles.

It's hard to give a time estimate because no one knows if your plane will be on time. The good news is there are numerous trains from Zurich Airport to Bern without a change of trains necessary.

The train boarding area is underneth the terminal.
