Passes for England

My husband and I will be in England for 3 weeks. 14 days of driving in the Cotswolds and Wales. Which pass is better to purchase - The Heritage Pass or the National Trust. I'm getting confused. Also, What do you think of us taking the bus into Paddington Station from Heathrow rather than the "slower" train. And another question but these two should go in the transportation. How early would a train leave Paddington Station to Bath to arrive by 11:30 - noon at the latest to give us time to pick up a rental car. Thanks for any info.

for the train, just go to the british rail site, and type in the station of departure and station of arrival, and it will list times for the trip and just use that as a guide to figure out how long it will take

If you're staying near Paddington Station, then your two cheapest and still relatively fast ways to get there from Heathrow are (1) the Heathrow Connect train or (2) the Tube: the Piccadilly line to Earl's Court and the District line from there to Paddington.

If you're not staying near Paddington, then your cheapest option is to take the Tube all the way, transferring as necessary to get to the station closest to your hotel.

It would take you 2 1/2 hours on four local buses to get from Heathrow to Paddington.

The shortest time from Paddington to Bath is about 90 minutes. However, departure times and travel times vary depending upon whether you are traveling on a weekday, a Saturday, or a Sunday. Use the Journey Planner at www.nationalrail.co.uk to get the timetables.

We are staying within walking distance of the Paddington Station. Is the Heathrow Connect the "slower" of the trains? I just want to take the cheaper train into London. Thanks for the info on British rail site. Will this also give me the info I need from Paddington to Bath Spa Station. Again that you to all for helping me with my travel plans.
