For those who have been to Passau and toured St. Stephen’s cathedral, did you get to hear the organ when you toured?

From May to October there is an organ concert every noon (approx. 30 minutes). Tickets are available from the ticket office in the inner courtyard. The last time I was there, tickets were still available five minutes before the beginning. Please note that it is not possible to visit the cathedral for approx. 90 minutes before the concert. Plan your visit for after the concert.

We were on a Viking cruise and we did not go inside the cathedral just the outside. The walking tour ended in that area so we went and bought tickets to get in for the organ concert. I think it was around 12 noon. Would highly recommend doing that as it was wonderful and well worth the money. If you are on a Viking cruise that is going to Regensburg as the next stop they gave us the option of staying in Passau till 5pm then taking a bus to catch up to the ship.

That sounds amazing. We will be there in November - outside of the May to October window - as a stop on our Viking cruise. We are trying to decide on Passau vs. Salzburg and hearing the organ would make a difference in my husband’s choice.
