Maybe if you were less cryptic, I'd know what you want. Why are you listing km and hr? What are your interests? When are you traveling? Why "idea #2"?

I always used an estimated travel times between destinations when planning a vacation. Don't want to be in train or car all day. I typical like 2-6hr maximum between spots.

I posted European vacation idea #1 a couple weeks ago and it got some tough criticism, so with some of those ideas its now idea #2.

Basically after reading several guidebooks these are some locations that interest us. Family ties in Colmar and Krakow. Krakow is still an outlying being so far away.
We are flying into Paris on 10/1 and flying out of Munich on 10/22 is the only thing know as of today. Everything else unknown/unreserved no firm plans yet.

Do these times reflect driving times or train times?

Time are using public transportation. Driving would cut time down, but issue with one way car rentals to different countries

Hi,

Keep Krakow on this itinerary, (I would) since you're family roots are there, regardless if it's the outlier. That Krakow is the outlier is irrelevant. I'm not of Polish heritage at all, went to Krakow, only regret that in this first visit I could not have extended the stay not by another day or two.

On getting around: Paris to Colmar area....take the TGV Paris Est to Strasbourg, the quickest way by train, less than 2 hrs, then transfer by local train to Colmar. Prague to Krakow can be done by night train if that's an option for you.
