Paris Mid May what types of clothes to wear

Hello, What is the weather like in Paris mid May? I would like to wear dresses, with cardigans, will I be warm enough? Any personal experiences out there? Thank you for your time. -S

Of course, it varies so much from year to year as well as from day to evening. Dresses & cardigans should be fine and you can always add the ever popular scarves which look great and surprisingly really help keep you warm. I would also bring a pashmina or two for chilly evenings or mornings.

Weather can really vary in May. It's my parents' favorite time to visit, because the odds are that it will be nice. However, there canbe quite cool days sometimes so be sure to bring one layer that would protect you from chill/wind/rain.

I'd agree with what's been said already. Layering and if you like to wear a nice casual pants or jeans.. Bring them along.

I was in Paris a year ago in May and it was beautiful. Warm and sunny during the day and pleasantly cool in the evening. I wore short sleve shirts with jeans or travel pants and then just added a light jacket at night. Real nice. Then I traveled down to Spain and Italy.......much hotter there. Wanted to go back to Paris.

Thank you for the thoughtful replies! I will be going mid may, so hopefully 70s it will be. I will make sure to bring layers an pants too.
Does anyone have suggestions for shoes? I am looking for a good pair of ballet flats with enough support to walk around in while sightseeing. Thank you everyone!

It's hard to predict but I went to Paris this May in the middle of the month and it was in the mid to high 70s during the day...perfect after a long, cold winter.

Are you familiar with wunderground.com? Go to the Travel and Activities tab, click on Trip Planner on the drop down menu. Then type in Paris and enter a two-week period covering the time you will be there. Scroll down and you will see many years of historical weather data including the high and low temperatures each day of that time period. That should give you an idea of the range. My first trip to France was in may many years ago and we had cool weather with some rain.

We will be in Paris in mid September and I am planning on layering (being prepared for both warm and cold, rainy). We were in Paris in May 2010 and it was cold and rained much of the time. I was not prepared as we had just been in Italy where it was warm. I would suggest you bring a couple of long-sleeved tops and sweaters and also clothing for warmer weather. It is so hard to pack when you are unsure of what the weather will be!
