I will be taking my 4 kids (18, 15, 8 & 4) to Europe this summer. Our schedule is completely open right now, but we want to hit up Amsterdam and Paris. We might have to go through London to use our frequent flier miles. Our main objective is the Graspop Festival (June 27 - 29 in Dressel Belgium - train stop MOL). Any suggestions regarding rooms, travel hints (plane vs train vs rental car) and attractions are greatly appreciated. My kids are great at traveling - so I am not worried about that part of it.
Hi, more info would help. Like, how long is trip in total, and what sort of budget restriction( how many euros a night basically have you for accomadation)
Until we know how long trip is it is difficult to make many useful suggestions.
A car would be more economical then a bunch of point to points, but, I am not sure, perhaps there is a family pass for the train that makes it workable. If your trip is more then three weeks then leasing a car is much cheaper.
London, Amsterdam, Dressel(?) and Paris then back to London is a nice circle, but to me that is at least a ten day trip. I think three countries in one week with four kids is nuts, but three countries in two weeks is great. So anyways waiting for feed back.
PS for longer then 3 days an apt is the way to go to save money on food in Paris, and Paris deserves 5 days anyways.
Our budget is moderate. 3 or 4 star hotels. Comfortable and clean.
