Paris for 5 nights Feb 22-26

Hi Steve, Just wondering what highlights we might focus on during this time, as well as places to stay, including in the Marais. Thanks,
Kathleen

Kathleen, Rick Steves does not respond on this site, these are people who travel and share their knowledge with others. Can't help you with lodging as only rented apartments in Paris. Once by the Sorbornne and a couple of times near Eiffel Tower. Suggest you start by using Google and typing in Top ten attractions in Paris for good info, costs, opening times etc. I think I have read you can pre-book tickets for Eiffel Tower, we did not do that but since very off season,we did not have a long wait at all. For the Lourve, suggest you pick one area of interest and concentrate on that as you could spend weeks there. Also someone said there is an easier entrance than the main one through the pyramid to avoid lines. Enjoy.

I'd suggest you read Rick Steves' "Paris" book, plus at least one other guidebook, to get ideas and learn about the city. If you like museums, you might consider the 4-day Paris Museum Pass. You'll have to do the math to make sure its cost is less than the total of individual tickets to each museum you'd like to visit. We took a boat tour on the Seine, which was very nice. I recommend Pere Lachaise Cemetery; Notre-Dame (tower climb fee is covered by Museum Pass); Sainte-Chapelle (covered by Pass); the Eiffel Tower (we didn't go up it, unfortunately); my sister enjoyed the Champs-Elysees, where she bought excellent macaroons at Laduree; Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. We were there for 7 full days and bought the six-day museum pass for the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Jewish Museum, Versailles (our day trip), the Cluny Museum, and the Pompidou. I can recommend two hotels: the Hotel Cluny Sorbonne, near the university, for 100 euros per night for a room for 2 people; and the Hotel Londres Eiffel, close to the Eiffel Tower, for 200 euros per night for a room for 2 people.
