I'll beat the rest of the folks here and say... probably best to give us a few more details, so we can answer with specifics! So - when are you going? How long are you staying? Willl you be on a tight budget? Of course, the Rick Steves guidebooks are invaluable for planning. You could even just get a good map of the city and start ticking off stuff that interests you - there are museums in profusion, gardens, historical sights, churches, markets, fascinating sounding streets.... Frankly, if all you did was hop off the Metro at, say, Chatelet, and start walking west, you could spend an entire day having fun and seeing wonderful things, and not even have scratched the surface.
