Paragliding (Swiss Alps)

Anyone know where the best place to paraglide in Switzerland and also the cost. Something I have always wanted to do and can't think of a better place to try it.

Tony,

I tried Paragliding on my last visit to Gimmelwald, and had a great time! It was quite a "unique" experience to reach the edge of the cliff and suddenly be looking 3000 feet straight down!

Based on my observations, there was Paragliding from both Murren (which is where I took my flight - about 20 minutes) and the top of the Schilthorn at the 10,000 foot level (that was about a one hour flight and of course more expensive - I might do that one next time). I asked the Pilot if he had a backup Parachute, and was quite relieved that he did have one.

As another post mentioned, Interlaken is also a good location. I don't think you'll have any difficulty finding a place to take a tandem flight in the Berner Oberland.

Happy travels and flying!!!

They were paragliding in the BO. We talked with two teenage girls who were traveling on a shoestring budget but did paraglide so it must not be too expensive.

When I was in Meiringen in 2001, there was paragliding off of Planplatten. I don't know how much it cost, but the view from Planplatten is spectacular on a clear day.
