Hi everyone! You guys have been so helpful in the past, I'm hoping someone can help me out here...
We (mom and I) are looking at the night train from Budapest to Prague, July 13 departing at 19:25 arriving July 14 08:07. I tried following Seat61 instructions on how to book this on the Czech railway website, and I see the train, but I am unable to book tickets. We need a 2-berth compartment. Can anyone figure out a way to do this?
Thanks! :)
I believe that since it originates in Budapest, you may have to book through MAV. Many countries you must pick up international tickets at the station. If you buy through Ceske Drahy, you would have to pick up the tickets in Czech Rep, but you are in Hungary. Anyway, try that.
PS. Just tried it and got to the registration page for 2 people in 2nd class compartment for 59 EUR pp, 1st class 99 EUR pp. They quote prices in EUR, but you actually pay in HUF. Tickets must be picked up in Hungary.
Did you get your tickets? I see that they will FEDEX them to you on the provided site. Hope you had a lovely trip. Do you know if there is a private bathroom in the 1st class 2-berth overnight?
Only those listed as Deluxe have a private toilet and shower, 3 compartments per train, according to https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-routes/prague-to-budapest-by-train.htm#sleeper_train.
