We fly into and out of Munich for our trip this June/July. Can anyone recommend a reasonable/quailty room closeby the airport for rest after/before the flights?

Freising is close to the airport, about a 17 min bus ride from the Freising Hbf to the airport. Some people like Hotel Zur Gred in Freising.
I usually stay in town (Muenchen) before a morning flight from MUC. This past year it was particularly early, so I stayed in Freising.

On one trip I flew out of Munich, staying right in the heart of things near Marienplatz. It is easy to get to the airport from Munich, and there is a subway stop right at Marienplatz. The details are in Ricks book or you can find them with a google search.
