Order of travel 7-8 weeks

I am flying into Brussels on May second and plan to spend about two month traveling in Europe. I had original planned to,fly home from Warsaw due to points but have now decided to do a tour and the end of my trip leaving Budapest and ending in Bucharest. I would fly home from Bucharest. So my solo travel needs to end in Budapest.

My rough plan in
One week Bruges, Brussels, Ghent,
One week Amsterdam with day trips
One week Berlin with day trips
Here is where I am not sure of the best route
I think
10 days Warsaw and Kraków
One week Prague day trips
One week Vienna
5 days in Budapest my trip spends only one day here

I would like to add Salzburg and Munich if possible. I am open to trains (my first choice) bus or flying. I donot want to drive.

any add ons or places to drop. I am interested in history, art, churches.

Hi,

This sounds like a great trip of 8 weeks lined up, absolutely ample time for Vienna, Berlin, Warsaw and Krakow. Which area of Berlin are you on staying in?

I have not gotten that far yet. I am open to any area but want easy access to transit and the sites. I am looking for hostels or small hotels. Not sure about the area but the easy hotel Berlin Hackescher Markt is in my price range. Since I am on my own I want somewhere I can walk around at night and get back to my hotel easily.

Hi,

In the eastern part of Berlin is where the greater choice of hostels and newer ones can be found. I stayed at an Easy Hotel once in London, super basic and spartan, not familiar with the one you listed in Berlin but there is one across from U-Bahn station Rosenthaler Platz. I would suggest Rough Guide Berlin as a reliable source.

I think the routing you outline sounds like the best to me ...
Berlin >> Warsaw >> Kraków >> Prague >> Vienna >> Budapest

To add Salzburg and Munich, maybe something like this ...
Brussels >> Amsterdam >> Berlin >> Warsaw >> Kraków >> Prague >> Munich >> Salzburg >> Vienna >> Budapest

What a great trip. Enjoy.

Try to put in Wroclaw and/or Torun in the Polish part of your trip. I am very much in favour of slow travelling, but 10 days divided between Warsaw and Kraków can turn out to be too much.

Thanks for the advice. How long would you give Warsaw and Kraków together. I plan to do a day trip to Auschwitz. Would three days in each be enough.
