We are planning 20 days in Italy (Dec. 26-Jan 15)have found operas in Bologna, Rome & Milan to fit our itinerary.
Should we take chance & buy there? Any recommended online sites? Grazie

Mike - there are many different opera "options" available in Italy. If you are headed to Milan, then certainly La Scala should be at the top of your list. You can purchase tickets (and need to well in advance) on their website.
In Rome, there are multiple opera houses, each with it's own history. You have plenty of time to research the opera you want to see... At that time of year, there are fewer options, but more seasonal offerings!
