How do I get a quote to a flight to Europe without having to name a specific destination? I just want a cheap flight to Europe, don't care which city.
I don't think that is possible. Pick a few places and start checking. What are your interests? We might could suggest a few destinations.
While I admire your desire to do it as inexpensively as possible, I recommend that you put more time into your trip planning by entering different city names in Europe to see what comes up. London, Paris, Amsterdam should give you some prices from different airline groups.
Jorge, from Houston you have several airlines that fly nonstop to Europe. Try using the airline web reservation forms for Continental, AirFrance, KLM.There are winter sales on right now for travel until next March according to a recent email. Try checking the boxes that allow you to check for more than one day at a time. Also read the Sunday Houston Chronicle Travel section as there are ticket consolidators who advertise. Most of them have very small ads similar to the ones in the New York Times and specialize in different areas- Asia or Central/South America or Europe. Good luck.
It's probably best to sign up for alerts to a variety of cities. Once signed up, you can also sign up for newsletters and deals - then you will get periodic specials to various cities (but virtually all domestic flights). I haven't jumped on any of these so I can't tell you if they are available when you look for them.
This might be what you're looking for - Kayak.com has a feature called "Buzz." You can find it on their website - on the left of the screen click on the "MORE" tab - then, "EVEN MORE." You can put in "Europe" and "Lowest Fare" to see what's available. The "Explore" feature might also be helpful. Good luck!
Try farecompare.com and hit Where-to-Go on top of the page and plug in your home airport when the world maps appear. click Europe and most cities with roundtrip fares will be shown. Have a good trip.
