Does anyone here use an online note system to keep travel info, articles, notes, etc., that you then access while traveling either by computer or smartphone? If yes, which ones and what do you like and don't like about it.
I have tried many smartphone note taking systems - Evernote is by far the best. The basic system is free and is more than enough for travel notes. Easy to use and syncs perfectly between all of your computers and smartphones and website.
Another vote for Evernote. I use it for itineraries, hotel reservations, and various webpages with travel guides and restaurant reviews. Easy to sync with all your devices. I have it on my PC and ipod touch.
Thanks for the info on Evernote. It's now on my PC, Ipod Touch and Blackberry.
Frank II, thanks for posting this question. Online notes is not something I've thought about so far. ¶ I'm considering buying myself an iPhone 4 either for my Birthday or Christmas, so that's very useful information for me also. As it works on the iPod Touch, I suppose I could try EverNote there first to see how it works. Cheers!
Evernote is the way to go. You can copy entire articles or webpages into your notebook and organize by endless tags like city, restaurant recs, things to do, where to stay, etc. I'm planning my November trip over and using Evernote to store all the great facts and advice that I get from RS as well as others on this site. I use GMAIL for all my reservation information and then organize into folders so that if I need to get a confirmation number, address, phone number, etc., I can just go to that folder. This is a great way to reduce the amount of paper "stuff" that you have to take over although I always keep copies of the essentials and scans in GMAIL or Evernote. The more you try it, I think you'll like it. Enjoy!
Evernotes is a good place to keep information about your trip but I wouldn't put anything I "created" on it.
One point I want to clarify, and perhaps those that are using EverNote can comment. At least one of the reviews on the I-Tunes website expressed some concern about the legal terms in using EverNote. The review stated that EverNote owns all the rights to whatever is posted, and can do what they like with the information. Are these "standard terms" for this type of application?
