One Day Trip from Paris

Hi, I will be in Paris for few days in early March.I won't have much time to explore. But I'll have at least 3 full days to explore Paris and its surrounding.Given that there must be lot to see... I'll like to get out of Paris boundaries to explore a different European flavor for a day.
Any recommendations....on how to plan.. and perhaps which one place to see outside of Paris.
Thanks

There are wonderful areas outside of Paris to visit, but if this is your first trip there, I think you should spend your 3 days in the city. There will be more than enough to keep you fascinated, I think.

I agree with BG: your 3 full days in Paris are only going to scratch the surface as it is, so it seems like a bad idea to cut that to 2 days to do a day trip that won't be as good (IMO) as another day in Paris. But, hey, it's your time and money, so here you go: if you think you'd like to see one of Europe's greatest Gothic cathedrals, a day trip to Chartres could work for you. (But I really do agree with BG)

The Loire Valley, Versailles, Chartres, Giverny are good choices for one day trips but I agree with BG and Kent: 3 days in Paris isn't really enough!

Gotta go with everyone else..3 days isnt nearly enough to get the flavour of Paris.

That being said, the TGV's give you a world of options for day trips... Loire Valley, Lyon, Brussels
