I’m seeing very old topics showing up on the feed as of 12/19, today. When I open the topic, I see they are from as early as 2017 and earlier this year. No new response are there and some have been closed.
Wonder what gives?
When someone opens a topic it moves up. Maybe someone is researching.
I suspect it was just a short-term problem, because I've been on the forum off and on all day and haven't observed a bunch of stale threads.
Apologies if these old topics caused any confusion. Our dear Webmaster was cleaning out dead links and this caused old topics to float to the surface. :)
- If someone adds a reply to a topic, it sets the timestamp to the current time, and it goes to the top of the list.
- If someone edits their reply to a topic, for example if I spot a tpyo in one of my posts and I correct, it gets the current time.
- If I delete one of my replies, the topic gets the current time.
- If somebody puts spam in an old topic, for example "click here for fake passports", then the webmaster deletes that post, it gets the current time even though the last (remaining) reply was 6 months ago..
Darn it! I was getting warmed up to post on the packing question - unfortunately it was from 2018, it was closed and yes, I'd already posted on it. Twice. lol!!!
I figured the webmaster was cleaning some stuff up!
MariaF, clicking on a post and reading it does not move it up.

Susan is correct. Many of the reasons for old post re-apearances are due to spam posts being added and subsequently removed.
Thanks, A.K. I was wondering about this, myself.
Pam – too funny! : )
