because not everyone on this page only takes Rick Steves tours and Rick is also realistic enough to know that his tour is not right for everyone and there are other options. One of the nice things about this is place is it not fully a commercial venture only allowing you to talk about things that are sold by the Rick Steves company

That’s the same reason they discussions on other luggage brands, etc.

There's actually quite a bit of discussion and recommendations for non-Rick Steves tours on this forum. And non-Rick Steves luggage. And non-Rick Steves books. And the OAT sales are pretty good when they have them, and accommodate a different travel style - active but luggage and transfers handled for you, etc.
