npower Championship final tickets.

Wife and I will be in London during the late spring Bank Holiday. While the Champions League final will be at Wembley that Saturday, I thought it would be more fun, and cheaper, to go to the Championship final on Monday. The winner plays in the Premier League in 2013-2014. All ticket requests, however, get thrown to a livefootballtickets site, where tickets are obscenely expensive (over 200 pounds a ticket). Any other options, besides scalpers?

It's hard to get tickets because the two teams playing each other haven't been decided yet. You'll have to wait until after May 4th; the final week of regular league competition. There is a good chance you'll be able to secure tickets via Ticketmaster UK, it's unlikely to sell out.

Tickets are sold by the two clubs in the final directly to their supporters. Only if these aren't taken up will there be a general sale - but again through the clubs, not the Football League or Wembley. Unusually the Club Wembley members have this game included in their season ticket this year. Any ticket may of course end up on a secondary market, but it is illegal to sell above face value if you aren't the organiser. Not to say this doesn't happen of course.
