Thanks for the post.

I am glad that I caught Alain's talk in English, missed unfortunately what he said prior to that, which must have been in German, or was in French? Then the woman host came on with her super clear, enunciated German...prima. That's one thing that Germany still has....radio symphony orchestras, which the US used to have, ie, the famous NBC Radio Symphony with you know who as its venerated conductor.

Fred , I'm on my way back over on Sunday , armed with a fistful of tickets for performances of Opera , Symphony and Ballet . I'll get to hear The HR Orchestra twice in Vienna , Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev on the programs . If I were forty years younger , I would be happy living over there .

Yes, I certainly did miss something in not hearing Alain's talk; regardless in French or German I would have wanted to hear it. Das ist aber schade. !

What's your itinerary? You could send a pm.

Speaking of radio orchestras, the Radio France Music Festival is the entire month of July in Montpellier, France. Bonus : most of the concerts are in air conditioned halls.

All the people with boats were all out on the river watching and listening and even the SUP groups were there too. Lovely weather for this kind of concert.

So much for people thinking that Frankfurt is boring and is only banks.
