Norwegian Cruise Line being revolutionary again

NCL is adding more studio cabins for the solo traveler at different levels. Until now, all studio cabins were inside and in the same "neighborhood" but now NCL is offering studio cabins on the large ships in different areas but of course for more money.

That is so great.

It is often possible as a solo to get larger cabins than these at a lower price with little or no single supplement on other cruise lines. You just need to know how to bargain hunt.

I loved their revolutionary drink packages that after tips will run as much or more than the cruise fare.

We often get off ships with zero owed on our account. The ice tea is actually pretty good all over the ship now.

Norwegian is doing a better job now, and the ships are very clean after the pandemic.

David,

The Free At Sea is Not Very Free, is it.

I always stick with the Garden Cafe and I drink very little. I never have bought one drink on ant of the ships but do get invited to one party or two when there are really free alcoholic beverages.

And every so often I am left a bottle of wine on my bed by NCL

The complimentary coffee is not very good but I refuse to pay the very expensive prices at Starbucks.

Carol,

I have done 7 / 8 cruises now with NCL and do get some discounts, perks and rewards.

Norwegian is familiar and there are only a few cruises left both time wise and money wise. I guess I will stick with NCL until the end, whichever comes first, end of money or end of time.

But if I could, I would love to cruise with a more upscale cruise line like Virgin Cruises or Viking Cruises.

Flying to London at the end of this week.. I am hoping that I get to review pieces of my trip real time.

A few years back I signed up for NCL's "open bar" package and got a charge of several hundred dollars for prepaid tips. That would have been more than I'd spend on alcohol without the package, so I backed out and paid onboard for what I consumed. To "get your money's worth" buying the package you'd have to drink six or seven drinks a day, way beyond my capacity or interest. Yet clearly some people get their money's worth, fortunately most of them keep different hours from me.

Free At Sea is not always free and sometimes very expensive

Some persons do feel they are getting their monies worth but that is because the price of drinks is so high

Rick

I want to add that I am also on NCL Forums and I mentioned that I did not feel the drink package was worth the money,

More than one person came back at me and told me that it was a great deal

I was asked if I knew how much drinks cost on board. I did not because I have never bought a drink on board

Well drinkers told me that a drink cost between X amount of money and X amount of money making the drink package a great deal.

So some cruisers are very happy with the drink package and feel they get a great deal
