Norse Airlines Experiences

The prices to Europe on the budget airline Norse are very attractive, I've always shied away from budget airlines and am wondering if Norse is worth taking. From what I can gather, the recommended Rick Steves carryon falls outside their carryon parameters so we would be forced to check our bags - something I really do not like doing even for domestic flights.
Experiences anyone?

They are a budget airline, so make sure you check what that price you find attractive actually include. As well as what the price will be once you add all the things you want to add.

You can pay to carry on a bag. I am doing that next month. You do have to pay for everything as others have noted. But still it turned out to be best alternative for me.

I can report back after I have actually flown with them.

Also interested in Norse. I was comparing fares between them and other carriers and found their rates to be much lower. Does anyone have experience with their premium economy? In recent years we've flown with British Airways, Lufthansa, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic.

Many budget lines encourage you to buy all the "extras" on-line ahead of time. Some raise the prices substantially if paid for at the gate. With all of them, read the website thoroughly and expect the rules to be enforced (even if sometimes they aren't.)

I just returned from London , flying Norse from Gatwick so I thought I would report back for those interested.
Both flights arrived within 15 minutes of scheduled times. The one from London was almost full and I saw people with children who had not bought reserved seats asking fellow passengers to trade seats so they could sit together. Buying on one ticket does not guarantee sitting together.
The flight from Ft. Lauderdale had sears that did not recline. I somehow ended up with three seats so not a big deal for me. But I wouldn’t have slept much had I had only one seat. The seats on plane from Gatwick did.
Everything is a la carte. I purchased seats (did not want to be in the middle) and paid to carry luggage on. I did not buy food going to London as the flight left at 10:30 pm and I had no desire to eat that late. I bought food for flight coming back. It actually was quite good-a step above most airplane food. On overnight flight, no pillows or blankets are provided. Blankets are available for sale and I was freezing so bought one for $6.50.
The major drawback I found was their check in procedures. You can not check in on line and everyone has to line up. They take people by flight. When I arrived at gatwick almost three hours early, the line getting checked in were all going to JFK. All Ft Lauderdale passengers were sitting on the floor in a long cue across the way. I went to the bathroom and came back and the Ft Lauderdale people were now standing. We’re passed people who had arrived for Washington DC flight which left later. Altogether I spent an hour and 15 minutes standing in line to get my boarding pass.
I bought my ticket awhile ago but in talking to people in line (what else was there to do!), it seems that Norse actually lowers their fares close to departure date. Someone got a one way ticket the day before for $300.
Would I fly again? I only saved about $200 once everything was added in which is not enough. But I did it to fly into Gatwick for an unconnected flight to Sardinia. It was by far the easiest way to get to Sardinia and I would fly Norse again if it simplified other things or if was REALLY cheaper. It is a bit like the Atlantic version of Spirit .
