We are on a European cruise in June. We dock in LeHavre The cruise is charging 198.00 per person to tour Normandy. Does anyone know if this is a good deal of if there is a way for us to do it on our own. The ship is in dock for about 12 hours.

Normandy is one of the regions that is difficult to explore with public transportation. Renting a car for a single day is not cheap either. From that perspective, participation in an organized tour is not a bad idea, especially if time is limited.

Agree with Beatrix, and encourage you to search this site further. There are loads of tours discussed, and they may be able to come pick you up rather than you having to find additional transportation to meet the tour. We used Overlord Tours, and they met us at a pre-determined spot in Bayeux. At the time, they were very flexible about pick up/drop off points and itineraries. You might want to search Trip Advisor too.
