You'll save money if you take the train to Bayeux and back to Paris on your own. Booked well in advance (up to three months allowed), you can get a Prem's discount fare as low as €15.00 each way. Most full day tours leave from Bayeux around 08:30 which means you'll need to spend the night in Bayeux the night before. The first train from Paris to Bayeux arrives too late. Two tours that people on this board often recommend are Overlordtour and DDay Historian.

Charles, These Tours are the only ones that I know of that depart and return to Paris. They're a bit "pricey", but if your budget will allow, this is certainly one option. We used Gray Line Tours for a day trip out to the Normandy beaches. Gray Line is based here in the U.S. You might want to go to Gray Line Tours.com and see if they offer overnight tours to Normandy. Gray Line offers many tours. They are the largest U.S. tour operator.
