Planning a trip to see some of the Alps (currently an American living in Ireland) and I was debating between these 2 locations (Bernese Oberland/Jungfrau/Eiger in Switzerland and Nordkette in Austria).
Which area would you recommend?

I have only experienced the Bernese oberland area and it is truely one of the most beautiful places in thevworld to visit imo. I have traveled alot throughout europe and to me it is a 5 star visit to enjoy.
We've been to both.... They are both great but I would say Switzerland is much more dramatic. Its also more quaint in a way. Lots of small villages all over to hike to. BUT- its WAY more expensive :)
We have also been to both. While we love Austria and have been to Innsbruck many times and have done the Nordkettenbahn a few times, nothing compares to the Berner Oberland. If cost is a concern, go with Austria. Half the cost but not half the beauty.
