We´re going to spend some days - in beginning of April - in Croatia but I´ve been foloowing weather forecast and I think that it will not be possible to visit Hvar. We have decided to spend 2 1/2 days in Split - 1/2 to visit Dioclecian Palace, 1 day to visit Hvar and 1 day to visit Trogir. If the weather is not so good, visiting Hvar wion´t be a good idea. Do you have another suggestion of visiting some city close to Split ? We will have a car.

I think Split deserves more than 1/2 day - it's more than just Diocletian's Palace. I enjoyed hiking up to Marjan Hill and that took several hours. Look on Tripadvisor for other things to do in Split, including museums, galleries (Meštrovic Gallery), the fish market, etc. Split is a good place to take ferries from - I went to Brac island and really enjoyed it (it is not as showy as Hvar but has beautiful beaches nontheless). Salona is also near Split and has some Roman ruins.

Thanks for the suggestions. I´ll take a look at tripadvisor. Good to know that we´re going to have a chance to do more than visiting Diocletian Palace in Split. A friend of mine told me that Split was just the palace..... :( I´m grateful to have found this site !
