next destination poll

I have barrowed my list to three areas, but still undecided where to go because all three are tempting. So suggest a way!!!

A. Spain/Portugal

B. Italy (again) west coast, from the riviera down all the coast

C. Swizterland/Germany/Austria - stay along the alps for the most part but see some major cities

I will be going in April most likely...weather for me isn't a huge factor because even if i am in the alps or beaches, rain snow and sunshine i all love since i love the outdoors.

If you want to hike in the Alps, I'm not sure April will work. I think I would go to the new place--Spain/Portugal. The only reason I haven't made that trip yet, is I'm saving it for time with my nephew who is in a bilingual school and will make travel in Spain a real adventure.

Swiss Alps in April- lots of rain, mud from snow run off and clouds and fog to block your mountain views, but still paying $$$$$$$$$ for the pleasure. Spend your valuable vacation time and money elsewhere, or travel at a better time.

I'd go to Spain/Portugal. You have already been to italy, and the weather might be very sketchy in April for the alps. Save that trip for another time.

I vote Spain/Portugal, but I am hugely biased towards Iberia, being both from there and it being the region my studies focus on. You'll also have a good range of climates to choose from depending on where you go and what you see. You could quite easily do mountains and beaches in Portugal, though it might not be warm enough that you'll want to go for a swim just yet. But there'll also be room on beaches that way :)

Another vote for Spain/Portugal.
One additional thing about hiking the Alps in April: Mud! And lots of it. If you do go for the Alps anyhow, be sure to check what is open and what is not. Many hiking "huts" do not open til May or even June.

If you've already been to Italy, then I'd say Spain/Portugal.
