Newquay Mania

So we spend 6 hours getting here from London after flying overnight from Toronto. There are these incredible views! We suddenly begin to feel the jet-lag! As it creeps in...and night comes, the Mania appears! Do not go there! if you do, you need to stay Away from the old town hotel accommodations close to the beach as outsiders go there with the excuse of stags/hens parties, and other mayhem and scream all night long. It is incredibly unpleasant, rude, and gives the town an unsavory reputation.... And the beautiful and nice lodging close to the beach is spoilt.. I would have Loved to have had that advice beforehand and gotten accommodations in the outskirts away from the beach area...that is why I am posting this...

Well! Who are these "outsiders" who dare to party and have fun on a Saturday night in Newquay? Perhaps they are Brits?

They probably are Brits. That doesn't mean you want them outside your hotel window when you're trying to sleep. I (Brit by birth) had no idea Newquay had become a party place, so appreciate the info. Enjoy Cornwall, sil.

I went to Newquay 15 years ago and even then it was full of drunk teens and tacky shops. I think it's always been seen as a place to avoid unless you are there for the surfing. I know when I lived in the West Country it had a pretty bad reputation.

It's probably more than forty years since I was there, so clearly I'm WAY out of date, lol.
