My husband and I have our reservations for our first RS tour, The Best of Europe this summer. We are already counting down the days and soooo excited!! I am wanting to reserve a night at the hotel in Haarlem for the night before the tour and I do have the link to their website. My question is about bed size. I searched the forum and I don't see this particular question. I see that they offer deluxe single and also classic double twin. The deluxe single appears big in the picture but I know that can be deceiving and I don't want a tiny little bed (we are used to a queen size) Could some of you more experienced travelers help a newby out? What size is comparable to a queen? Thank you so much in advance.
Single is for one person. Double twin will be two beds that you can probably squish together. Here's a decent primer on Europe bed situation: https://roundtript.com/european-beds/
Oh my gosh! very helpful. thank you
If you tell the hotel that you are booking in advance of participating the RS tour, they should put you in the type of room that you will have for the tour and you should not have to move. It is always a good idea to email the reservation office to make sure that they know you are part of the upcoming tour.
You certainly have picked a great tour for your first RS tour. I know you will have a great time. I particularly like the Corrie Ten Boom home in Haarlem. You can get advance reservations for the English tours. If you watch the movie or read the book "The Hiding Place" in advance it is quite meaningful.
FYI a queen size bed is 160 cm wide. Hotel beds are often described in centimeters of width. You can check with the hotel if you want to be sure what you're getting.
