Is there any type of company that pick up the used needles?

Could you define your question a little bit better? Where are you going, what kind of needles? What do you mean by a company that picks up used needles?

Levernia,

I've never seen this question come up before, so can't give you a definitive answer. However a few thoughts.

I assume you're referring to Diabetic needles? I've never heard of any company that will "pick up the used needles". Which part of Europe will you be travelling in?

One solution might be to pack a "Sharps Container" in your luggage (the small plastic ones that are typically used in ambulances). They're not too large, and you could dispose of them when you get home. Would something like this would work - www.calvetsupply.com/product/Voyager_Sharps_Needle_Disposal/Sharps_Containers. Also, have a look at www.abcwua.org/pdfs/Needles.pdf (left side of the page).

Your Doctor may have some suggestions, as I'm sure he has other patients with similar circumstances.

Good luck!

If you are talking about diabetic supplies, here are a couple of idea. A pringles can works quite well--just dump them in that, bring them home and dispose of them. Also, lots of airport, train stations, etc. have Sharps containers in the restrooms.

If you are using insulin pens and want to get rid of those needs, you could use something even smaller--an old pill bottle for example. I put a lot of my sharp items in empty test strip bottles, but I am on a pump and do not have as many needles as I used to.
