I want to work on a tourism boat in europe?
I have no idea where to start?
Any websites, books, blogs that anyone know of?
Tourism boat? Do you mean a cruise ship? Ferry? That would be a good start...learn what they're called.
Marc, type in "employment on cruise ships" on your search page, and see what comes up. Only one warning do NOT pay for anything, or apply anywhere that wants a fee. I am sure there are bogus sites that will ask for fees to apply for you. I would apply directly to each cruise line by going to each cruise lines site. Since you are interested in Europe , look at which lines sail Europe first.
Ps. Are you sure you want such a job?
Unless you speak one of the languages of Europe besides English, you will not have a chance. Also a work permit and residency permit is needed. One also needs to have a skill that is useful on a cruise ship.
There are ships that cruise the Med, river cruise ships, North sea cruises, and on and on.
Marc, Do we have it correct that you want to work on a cruise ship? Have we established that is what a tourism boat is?
A "tourism boat". Hmmm.
A vaporetto?
A Rhine River cruise boat>
The Bauteaux Mouches?
A hydrofoil from Naples to Capris?
A Greek ferry?
Marc,
You might contact the Cruise Lines directly to enquire about employment opportunities.
I know several people that have worked on Cruise ships that operate out of European ports, and the vast majority of them speak only English (not a problem since most of the passengers only speak English).
However, they have specific skills in other areas, which is probably why they're able to work (ie: photography experts and able to teach courses to cruise passengers).
Good luck!
