Need help on Travel Itinerary for Europe late July to mid-August

My fiance and I will be travelling for 20 days in Europe this summer. We are flying into Madrid and flying out of Brussels. We would like to hit the following cities, Madrid, Barcelone, Paris, Brussels, Venice, Rome, Florence, and if we have time a short visit to Amsterdam.

Originally, we were planning on staying in Madrid for a couple days and Barcelona for another couple days then go to Italy. However, I have been finding that it's pretty hard to find a direct ways to get from Barcelona to Italy. After going to Italy we were planning on ending in Paris and Brussels for our trip.

Is it unreasonable to try to go to Italy before France? I have found an easier time to get from Paris to Italy, rather than Barcelona to Italy(Milan). Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

Check whichbudget.com and skycanner.net for flights from Barcelona to Rome. I know Vueling, a Spanish discount airline, flies that route for as low as about 50 Euro per person....cheaper than a train and saves time.

8 cities in 20 days (or 18 if you didn't count your 1st and last day). My best advice would be to cut out half the cities. You're all over the place, and will end up spending a lot of time on trains, planes etc.

She's referring to the number of days you have available... and I agree, that's entirely too much for the time you have allotted, unless you really like seeing the inside of trains and airplanes.

Wait a minute, didn't you already post this and we all told you it was insane? Or am I thinking of someone else?
