Need Help Finding the Right Shoes

I need waterproof walking/hiking shoes for an upcoming trip but I'm having trouble finding any sizes in a wide width. Does anyone know of a comfortable style/brand that might work and how I go about finding them? I'll be forever grateful.

Take a look at ECCO, I have a wide foot as well and ECCO'S always work well for me.

I also like the Ecco shoes. I bought mine from Zappo's.com. The price was good and they have reviews to read about the shoes and how they fit. They also have a large selection of sizes. I bought a hiking boot for a Christmas tour and they were comfortable and waterproof.

Big fan of ECCO -- about all I have worn for the past ten years or so from dress to hiking. This is my travel shoe -- wear it winter and summer in Europe -- looks good in the city, great on cobble stone streets, etc., This is only shoe that I take when I travel

All ECCO come with removable intersoles. I take an extra pair and an switch daily to keep the shoe dry and fresh. With a goretex lining they are waterproof.

I have a pretty wide foot, but actually bought a couple pairs of Merrell boots and shoes in a regular width (they seem to run wider than most brands) to travel in that have worked really well. I got 1 pair of hiking boots that goes over my ankles and 1 pair of hiking shoes that doesn't support the ankle - these worked great when I was hiking over rocky or muddy terrain. I also bought 1 pair of Merrell mules which were pretty stylish and worked well for walking around cobblestone streets all day and night when in a city.

I got a pair of Keen H20 sandals - not the most stylish - but a great waterproof sandal if you are swimming or hiking through a wet, rocky area...nice traction and comfortable from the get-go.

Land's End is another source and they definitely have a selection of wide width shoes, boots and sandals.

I like the Propet line. Most are washable. I use a black slip on athletic shoe for work-I'm on my feet 45+ hours a week. I plan to use the same one for my upcoming trip. You should find a retail source by going on their website.

I had a hard time mixing comfort with style... I wear pants most of the time but I wanted something that would go with shorts/capris if I so desired... I ended up with ECCO's... they cost me an arm and a leg - hopefully they hold up!

L.L. Bean also carries some wide shoes. I have wide feet, too. It is hard to find shoes that fit that don't look too orthopedic. Good luck!

Eccos rock... but are 2x Keen price. But find the best show for your food - and worry about cost later. Happy feet = happy trip! $100 extra will be well worth it for cobblestones in europe!!
